Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP)

Who we are:
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) of Immaculate Conception Church conference is part of a world-wide Catholic organization that addresses the two great commandments: love of God and love of neighbor. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all proceeds go towards our cause. Although any request is considered, the bulk of requests involve help with rent, electricity, water and heating fuel. 100% of our funding comes from donations.

Our conference meets twice a month. The first meeting is in-person on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Parish Center. The second meeting is via Zoom, the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Goals Fulfilled:

In 2023:
~ Our conference helped 558 people in 212 households, expending $26,277.

In 2024 (October 2023 - September 2024):

Assisted 278 Households - expending $33,947.56
Thank you to all that have donated or volunteered their time to the Society. Without you we would not be able to reach out and help our neighbors that are in need.

In 2025 ((October 2024 - September 2025)

For Fiscal Year 25 (October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025) , SVdP helped 286 families (738 people). We expended $48,200.92 helping our Neighbors in Need. Of that amount $18,683.35 went towards Rents, $29,976.57 went towards Utilities and $1,447.17 to Other We have also referred 198 families to other social agencies that could help them with their concerns. Below is a breakout by Quarter:

In the First Quarter of FY 25 (October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024) , SVdP helped 77 families (218 people). We expended $14,225.80 helping our Neighbors in Need. Of that amount $4,457.55 went towards Rents, $9,165.05 went towards Utilities and $167.17 to Other.

In the Second Quarter of FY 25 (January 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025), SVdP helped 92 families (229 people). We expended $20,506.38 helping our Neighbors in Need. Of that amount $8,018.60 went towards Rents, $12,022.78 went towards Utilities and $465 to Other

In the Third Quarter of FY 25 (April 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025) SVdP helped 85 families
(209 people). We expended $8,325.24 helping our Neighbors in Need. Of that amount
$2,050 went towards Rent, $6025.24 went towards Utilities and $250 to Other.

In the Fourth Quarter of FY 25 (July 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025) SVdP helped
41 families (104 people). We expended $5,143.50 helping our Neighbors in Need.
Of that amount $1,815 went towards Rent, $2,763.50 went towards Utilities
and $565 to Other.

Friends of the Poor Walk

The Friends of the Poor Walk which took place on October 4, 2025 was
successful. Immaculate Conception SVdP and St. Aloysius SVdP wants to
thank everyone who participated in the walk, either physically or
by donating money and/or time. The money raised will be used to
help our Neighbors in Need.

Yard Sale and Pizza Oven Raffle:

The Yard Sale was a big Success. Thank you to all the people who donated to the Yard Sale and all the people helping the SVdP members setting up and working the Yard Sale especially Yard Sale Jim!!

The Pizza Oven Raffle was also a success. The winner of the Pizza Oven was Valerie Jenkins of Hughesville, MD.

Thank you to all that have donated, volunteered their time to the Society, or came and participated in our fundraisers. Without you we would not be able to reach out and help our many neighbors that are in need.

Ways to Contribute to SVdP of Immaculate Conception:

Place a donation in the collection basket or the poor box (made out to SVdP-ICC)
Donate to the Special Collection in November 2025, “SVdP Christmas Project”
Participate in fundraising events:
Annual yard sale. June of Each Year
Annual Friends of the Poor Walk.. October of each year
Donate your car (details at svdpusa.org/donate) or used clothing (place in donation container beside Helping Hands building).
